What is Easter?

Easter is the second great Christian holiday after the birth of Christ and its symmetry with the beginning of spring and the time of rebirth, the nature of the resurrection philosophy in human belief is waiting for death and return. It celebrates Jesus rising from the dead, three days after he was executed.

 When is Easter?

The date of Easter is related to the full Moon. Easter is celebrated on the first Sunday following the full Moon that occurs on or just after the spring equinox.

 In Christian calendars, the first full moon of spring is called the  ” Paschal Full moon”. So, to put it another way: Easter is observed on the Sunday after the Paschal Full Moon.

The word Paschal means “Passover” in Greek. This Moon significant because it is used to determine what date Easter will fall on each year. This is why Easter is a movable holiday, occurring anywhere from late March to late April.

Common food in Easter

The most common food in Easter is Egg. People in Easter used to design eggs as beautiful and colorful as possible. They are usually used as gifts on the occasion of  Easter. But today they are replaced by chocolate eggs that there are gummy candies inside them.

It is an imaginary creature that, according to stories, brings an Easter Egg. On Easter day, children in particular find and eat colorful eggs, which the “rabbit” hides in the corners of the gardens. The rabbit is symbol of birth and fertility; it is an agile animal that strives with all its might at the beginning of spring to give birth.

Time of 2022 Easter day

Easter 2022 will be observed on Sunday, April 17. Easter is a “movable feast” that is always held on a Sunday between March 22 and April 25.
