The designation of this great day by the United Nations is a wake-up call for humanity, a warning to act before it is too late and to protect the earth, which is our only home, and has been damaged, but it still hopes that humans will fulfill their responsibilities to the earth. When we talk about the environment, it actually includes everything that surrounds us. Everything in our lives is connected to the environment in some way. All natural elements from the soil under our feet to the air that is everywhere, human elements which include everything that is man-made, biological, and ecological components such as ecosystems, food chains, and natural cycles, and biodiversity, fall under the category of environment.

The importance of the environment is further demonstrated as a source for providing vital resources for human physical and mental health, safety against natural disasters, and natural heritage for future generations.

The environment is a balanced system, and any excessive and unknowing interference by humanity can have irreparable effects on it. The most important and dangerous menace to the future of the planet is climate change, which is occurring rapidly. In order to be able to preserve this home, we must take a vital step, and that is to protect the environment consciously, intelligently, and carefully. Our actions, no matter how small, can be very effective and prevent a disaster from occurring.

Every year, the United Nations chooses a theme to celebrate this important day, to draw more attention to the various aspects of the environment that affect our lives.
