Savory (Satureja Bachtiarica Bunge (local name: Marzeh-e-Koohi) is an endemic species plant that widely distributed in the Central Zagros Mountains, Iran. It has been used as culinary herbs, flavoring agents in perfumery and cosmetics. The leaves, flowers, and stems are used for herbal tea and, in traditional medicine, to treat various ailments, such as cramps, muscle pains, nausea, indigestion, diarrhea, and infectious diseases.
